Eaglet Eye profilometry for custom contact lenses
At Chris Geysen Contactlenzen, we work with Eaglet Eye profilometry: an advanced measurement technique that maps the shape of the eye with extreme precision. Not only the cornea, but also the transition zone and the sclera are measured. This provides us with a much more complete picture than traditional topography.
Why profilometry?
No eye is perfectly round or standard. Especially with modern contact lenses, every detail makes a difference. With the Eye Surface Profiler, we measure the eye surface in 3D, allowing us to design and fit lenses in a much more personalized way.
This technology is particularly valuable for:
- rigid gas permeable lenses
- scleral lenses
- ortho-k lenses
- complex corneal shapes
- keratoconus or other irregularities
Eaglet Eye describes profilometry as a significant step forward for fitting specialty contact lenses, as the measurement is based on height data of the eye surface.
Comfort begins with an accurate measurement
A lens that better matches the actual shape of the eye is usually more comfortable and often provides more stable vision. Profilometry helps us move toward the right lens more quickly and purposefully, with less guesswork and fewer subsequent adjustments.
Our expertise
For us, profilometry is not an optional extra, but a vital component of modern contact lens fitting. Thanks to this technology, we can work more accurately even with challenging eyes and design lenses that better suit your specific situation.
